PROJECT 04
est
An art and science studio
est is an experimental studio that explores the intersection of art, science, and technology. The studio serves as a space for interdisciplinary collaboration, bringing together physicists, artists, designers, and technologists to create works that bridge conceptual boundaries.
Through installations, publications, and digital experiments, est investigates how scientific concepts can be expressed through aesthetic forms, and how artistic approaches can generate new perspectives on scientific questions.

AREAS OF FOCUS
Material Explorations
Investigating how physical materials can embody scientific principles and create sensory experiences that communicate complex concepts in intuitive ways.
Computational Aesthetics
Developing new visual and auditory languages that emerge from algorithmic processes, exploring how computation can generate novel aesthetic experiences.
Speculative Instruments
Creating devices that function as both scientific instruments and artistic objects, blurring the boundary between measurement and expression.
SELECTED WORKS

Quantum Traces
Installation, 2023
A series of visual artifacts generated by translating quantum fluctuations into physical marks, creating a tangible record of subatomic phenomena.

Temporal Cartographies
Print Series, 2022
A collection of maps that visualize time rather than space, exploring how different cultures, disciplines, and species experience and measure temporal dimensions.

Resonant Objects
Sound Installation, 2023
A series of sculptural forms that translate electromagnetic fields into audible frequencies, allowing visitors to hear the invisible energies that permeate our environment.

Pattern Language
Digital Publication, 2024
An interactive exploration of pattern formation across scales, from cellular automata to urban growth, examining the underlying mathematical principles that generate complexity.
APPROACH
Collaborative Research
Each project begins with an intensive research phase, bringing together experts from relevant fields to explore a concept from multiple perspectives.
Material Experimentation
We develop custom tools and techniques for working with materials in ways that reveal their inherent properties and behaviors, often creating new processes in the process.
Public Engagement
Our works are designed to be accessible to diverse audiences, creating entry points for engaging with complex scientific and philosophical ideas through sensory experience.
STUDIO
est operates as a nomadic studio, establishing temporary research spaces in different locations based on the needs of specific projects. This approach allows us to work in close proximity to relevant scientific facilities, natural phenomena, or cultural contexts.
Residencies
est regularly participates in and hosts residency programs that bring together artists and scientists for intensive collaboration periods.
Publications
We document our research and creative processes through limited-edition publications that serve as both documentation and standalone artistic objects.
